What is care leave?

Caregiving leave allows an employee to get extra days off to care for or assist a family member or unrelated person with whom the employee lives.

How long does caregiving leave last?

An employee is entitled to a care leave of 5 days per calendar year.

Purpose of care leave

Caregiving leave is intended to provide personal care or support to a member of the employee's family (e.g., son, daughter, mother, father or spouse) or a person living with the employee, even if the employee is not formally related or associated with that person.

How to apply for caregiving leave?

An application for care leave can be submitted on paper or electronically (e.g., through the company's system or e-mail).
